Each of the items on the J. alayne web site is handcrafted by me. This means that each item is unique, and may have slight variations from piece to piece. Please accept this as one of the beautiful features of owning a special piece from J. alayne. Also, many of our items are one-of-a-kind or very limited in quantity, and I make no guarantees of availability.

I have made every effort to display accurate colors in the photographs on this web site, however, due to numerous variations in the settings of your monitor, I can not guarantee that the colors that you view on your screen are the exact colors of the items.

• Sterling Silver jewelry components including silver beads, crimps, clasps, and alphabet beads are made of 92.5% pure sterling silver, and considered the best type of silver for jewelry. Unlike many competitors who try to cut costs by using base metal crimps beads and silver-plated clasps, J. alayne chooses only the finest sterling silver components.



• Gold-filled is a mixture of 14k gold and sterling silver, they are NOT gold plated. Gold-filled is prefered to pure 14k for this type of jewelry because 14k gold is a soft metal and can dent when placed next to sterling silver or crystal beads.



• Freshwater Pearls are cultivated in mussels, not oysters, in freshwater lakes and rivers in China, Japan and the United States. Due to their easier cultivation, freshwater pearls offer an affordable alternative to the more expensive and rarer saltwater pearl.
  
  A pearl is a natural object and is not designed to be in contact with most manufactured chemicals such as perfume, make-up, skin care products, hair spray or similar compounds. Contact with these items can alter a pearl's luster or color. With this in mind, it's best to make pearls the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.



• Swarovski is the acknowledged producer of the finest quality full-lead cut glass crystals in the world. In addition to their precise edges and angles, Swarovski crystals are renowned for their brilliance and clarity. This comes from the incorporation of lead into the crystal refining process. In terms of overall quality, full lead crystals are simply a cut above other glass crystals.



• Bali Beads are a specialized type of sterling silver bead, characterized by intricate flourishes and delicate, ornate bas-relief work. They are often handmade and are typically imported from Turkey, India, or Bali. Because these items are individually crafted from sterling silver by numerous bead artisans, there may be slight variations in size, form, hole size, and oxidation.



• 49-strand Accu Flex® Wire is used in all J. alayne pieces and is premium-quality, nylon-coated multistrand beading wire. Top Rated in independent laboratory tests for: Strength, Kink resistance, and Flexibility.

If your new J. alayne piece contains silver, remember it is sterling and can tarnish. Tarnishing is a natural process caused by oxidation, and does not damage the silver. Tarnish can easily be removed by rubbing the piece gently with a soft, treated polishing cloth. Polishing cloths may be purchased from J. alayne, a local jewelry store, and many department stores, including Target.

It is always best to store sterling silver pieces in a covered place where it will not be exposed. In addition, you should avoid wearing your sterling silver pieces while swimming, doing dishes, cleaning with chemicals, or anything else where the jewelry would come in contact with abrasive soaps or chemicals.

(You will have the opportunity before "checking out" to add or delete any items). Delivery:

• Each and every item at J. alayne is hand-crafted. To allow for the preparation of your special piece, please note that orders received prior to 5PM Monday through Friday will generally be shipped within two to three business days. Some items may require a longer lead time (such custom jewelry), and generally these items are noted on the web site.


• Please also allow 5 to 7 business days (excluding holidays) for the delivery of your package via USPS Priority Mail. At the moment, we ship only to addresses in the United States.

Shipping:

All orders are shipped within the United States via USPS Priority Mail with insurance!

You will receive an e-mail confirmation that we have received your order and another when it has been shipped.

*Please note: There is a $10.00 restringing charge for any item that has to be resized due to inaccurate sizing on behalf of the customer.

• Within 15 days of receipt of your order, I will gladly exchange your gift for another item available at J. alayne or refund your purchase. The shipping and handling charge is not refundable. Custom or customized orders are not refundable or returnable.


• Merchandise must be in the original condition. Used items will not be accepted.


• Please email me at info@jalayne.net BEFORE returning items stating the order number, which item(s) you'd like to return and the reason. I will then send you a USPS return label.


• Attach the provided USPS return label to the original package and ship back to J. alayne designs within 10 days of receipt. I will not process any return items in envelopes. I will not accept or take responsibility for goods damaged in return shipping.
• Be sure to include the original inner packaging and pack the items safely in the original package with strong tape. The cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund or exchange.

Once I receive your package, I will email you to let you know that I have received the item, and how to use your merchandise credit.

Earrings are nonrefundable: Earrings are nonrefundable due to sanitary reasons. You can rest assured that the earrings you ordered from J. alayne's were not previously worn. If you have a problem with an earring order, I will exchange or remake the earrings for you using the same french wires or posts. Exchange/remake fees may apply.
